Started with first light again as hitting 30degrees later. Leaving Castrojerez the first hour takes you to top of a ridge. Good to get it over early in the day. May just see path on photo

Looking forward to second breakfast in Itero de la Vega.

Now as an “experienced” Camino pilgrim I’ve often followed the rule don’t go to first bar in town if you’ve done your research and you know there’s more. The first will be busy, staff less attentive? Well I knew the second bar in Itero was excellent – had a good breakfast there 4 years ago when I last did this section. So I explained all this to Ben and lo and behold….. it was closed. Do we walk back to first about 1/2 km back or carry on to next at Boadilla 8 km ahead.

Well it seemed a long 8km but finally got a great sandwich and coke and water- lunch rather than breakfast

Walk into Frómista after lunch was hard- last 6km -to get going again and because of the heat now 26km.

No shade until the last part when we walked alongside the canal de palencia.

Great shower and beer at Albergue Estella de Camino. Siesta then time to rehydrate.
