Off at 7 having already had breakfast. The next village Ages in view.
A lot of today was on Tarmac – very quiet country lanes. After Ages the next village is famous for its archaeological dig. Atapuerca is the site of our earliest human ancestors found in Europe.
Then there’s always some hill to climb.
Cross at the top. Don’t know what that chaps doing under the tree.
Don’t know what this said -I’ll translate it later via Google. Hope it’s not rude.
Down the other side of hill through a couple of small villages. But had great snack in cafe.
Took about an hour over scrubland to get past Burgos airport
Finally last 2 hours though a very busy park along a river into Burgos. Sunday afternoon lots of Spanish out walking or cycling. Very crowded park- no buene camino from locals as in the small villages- felt an oddity in dusty clothes with rucksack. Everyone else was in their Sunday Best. Pilgrims not so evident in the crowd.
Got my first blister yesterday- the camino got me for feeling smug about not having had any.
Tomorrows a very short day – only 10 km so shall get rest and take in the city in the morning.

Not bad going – the first blister on day 12! Hope you have your compede ready. Glad to see blue skies again it’s been cloudy and rainy here all day to go with our general mood for the last day of the holidays. Happy anniversary by the way x
