Pontedeume to Betanzos 21km

Have to be quick tonight I’m sitting outside a bar next to my washing in the laundrette . With a beer. But no tapas provided – very dissapointing.

Day started at 8 after breakfast at hotel as no cafes for next 10km (3hrs). Very very steep hills out of town.

But then up high for a while with wooded paths.

But what goes up must go down, and that was the story for today lots of up and downs.

Snack at Mino

Then on to Pnte de Porco- bridge of pigs. NO PIGS IN SIGHT. View the other way along the estuary from the bridge.

Then lots more steep up and down.

And it’s getting uncomfortably hot – 27c – with no breeze and not a lot of shade.

Very wellcome fountain to douse my head to cool off. 1hour to go.

First sight of Betanzos.
Very, very quiet path compared to the Camino Frances – apart from a few locals I’ve  only seen 1 group of Spanish pilgrims who spoke no English, and a young couple who obviously had just met on the Camino and though we wished each other Buon Camino they shot past me very quickly engrossed in each other.

Not taken any pictures of town yet. Arranged room, had shower and laundrey and 2 beers. More pics tomorrow.
